Shanley has worked in NM public education since 2011, starting in Human Resources at Alamogordo Public Schools and has been working with NM State Reporting since 2016 as the STARS Coordinator for the district using the (SIS) Student Information System, Synergy. In 2019 she moved to Mesa, AZ to work at Edupoint Education Systems (Synergy) as the State Reporting Business Analyst for NM and MN State Reporting. She left the Business Analyst technical role to solely focus on New Mexico schools, supporting them remotely from Arizona.

In the summer of 2022, she began to pursue her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Outside of work and school, she frequently travels back home to NM to visit family. Relaxing at home means cuddling her two incredibly spoiled hedgehogs, Goose and Olive.
